This is an essential program to assist students leaving school, making the transition from school to employment easier and more familiar. For the purpose of the program, students complete the program at ET Australia's premises in a training room away from mainstream education. Students are required to dress appropriately and conduct themselves in a professional working environment. Our unique 3 day program will provide students with the following workshops and activities:
- Job search skills incorporating:
- How to use the Australian Job Search internet site/Job Search Kiosk
- The Job Network - Who? How? Why?
- "Finding Work" - cold canvassing techniques
- Communication in the workplace
- Personal presentation
- Goal setting
- Job interviews
- Resume preparation - customised for individual needs
- Application letters
- Information about different types of jobs, careers and trades
- Information about additional training pathways that can be undertaken and referrals to relevant training organisations
- Job Network - Centrelink guest speaker
- Information about traineeships and apprenticeships - Australian Apprenticeship Centre officer guest speaker
- Recruitment - Recruitment agency consultant guest speaker
- Host Employer - Guest speakers
Upon successful completion participants will be issued with a 'Certificate of Participation'.
